Mocambique Residence

Nestled in the heart of Lisbon, this Classic Period apartment has been meticulously reimagined to honour its historic character while embracing contemporary living. The open kitchen, dining and living spaces are seamlessly integrated, featuring a recessed cinema screen that disappears into the ceiling, while the private quarters include a tranquil master suite, guest bedroom, and a light-filled marquise transformed into a greenhouse leading to a creative studio. Every detail reflects an uncompromising commitment to precision, from the careful alignment of architectural elements to the kitchen backsplash, where every tile was laid without a single cut. The result is a timeless home where craftsmanship, innovation, and understated elegance come together in perfect harmony.

At the heart of the design was a deeply personal narrative. Time was devoted to understanding the client's Greek and Brazilian heritage, her upbringing in the United States, and the lifestyle, passions, and rituals that shape her everyday life, allowing the home to become a true reflection of its owner. The material palette draws inspiration from her appreciation of art, fashion, and cherished travel destinations, celebrating traditional craftsmanship through bespoke finishes, including hand-cut and hand-painted tiles. The result is an interior that feels both worldly and intimate—rich in cultural references, yet uniquely personal.
