Jamina’s creativity stemmed from her early years of travelling and was influenced by her art photographer mother and her father who worked as a touring broadcast engineer. As a result she grew up in countries like Canada, Holland and Belgium, discovering a wide range of cultures during her travels. From a young age she was exposed to art, crafts and architecture from around the world which created a colourful tapestry of inspiration which she still extracts from to this day.
After completing the Art and Design foundation course at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing Jamina relocated and graduated with a first class BA (Hons) in Interior Design at the Glasgow School of Art. She then moved to London where she worked for award-winning interior design practices including AvroKO, Russell Sage Studio and Alexander Waterworth Interiors. Having worked with these hospitality specialists gave Jamina a sharp edge in design and execution.
The duality of an artistic and a technical mind has given Jamina the ability to focus on the finer details to deliver projects that are perfectly balanced and coherent. Her work as a technical designer during most of her career has given her the range of experience needed to work independently and execute all phases of a project from start to finish.
After a decade of successfully delivering retail, hospitality and residential projects, Jamina set up her own practice to give her the freedom to collaborate with a diverse and talented pool of studios alongside her own private clients.
