Jamina's creativity was shaped from an early age through travel and a multicultural upbringing, influenced by her mother, an art and film photographer, and her father, a broadcast engineer. Born in Montreal and raised between Canada, the Netherlands, and Belgium, she spent much of her childhood travelling, developing a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, traditions, rituals, architecture, craftsmanship and the ways environments shape everyday life. These formative experiences continue to inform her work, creating a rich tapestry of inspiration that blends global perspectives with a sensitivity to place.

 

After completing an Art & Design Foundation at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Jamina relocated to Scotland to graduate with a First Class BA (Hons) in Interior Design from The Glasgow School of Art. She then moved to London, where she spent almost a decade working with internationally recognised design studios including AvroKO, Russell Sage Studio, and Alexander Waterworth Interiors. Working across award-winning hospitality, retail, and residential projects gave her a deep understanding of creating environments that are both emotionally engaging and operationally successful.

 

Specialising in technical design for luxury hospitality, Jamina gained extensive experience translating complex concepts into highly detailed construction packages, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects with precision, operational efficiency, and exceptional craftsmanship. Today, she leads her own practice, bringing together international hospitality experience with a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by travel, culture, and continuous learning. Her work continues to evolve through a long-standing interest in Eastern philosophies, healthy buildings and the relationship between people and the environments they inhabit.
